The 2024 World Grappling Championship will be held in Astana from October 7 to 12

The 2024 World Grappling Championship will be held in the capital of Kazakhstan from October 7 to 12, 2024. More than 1,800 participants from more than 30 countries will take part in the competition. The championship will be held in Grappling and Grappling Gi among all age groups - U15, U17, U20, adults and veterans.

"Grappling has now truly become a mass sport. It is developing under the auspices of the international wrestling federation United World Wrestling, which is one of the oldest reputable sports organizations in the world and recognized by the International Olympic Committee," said Kanat Alin, President of the Grappling Association of the Republic of Kazakhstan, head coach of the national grappling team of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

It should be noted that the capital will host the World Cup for the third time. In 2018, for the first time, the World Grappling Championship was held in Astana. In 2019, he entered the program of the World Olympic Championships in such sports as Greco-Roman and women's freestyle wrestling. The capital of Kazakhstan has also hosted the Asian Championship twice in 2017 and 2023.
